Gold Leaf

Various types available in differents carats, different clours and in loose or transferred form. With loose leaf the leaves rest between the pages of the book, whereas transfer leaves are pressed onto tissue paper ready for transfer onto work.

Prices vary by quantity in the following segments: 0-5 books, 5-10, 10-20 and 20-40. For quantities over 40 books, please contact us for prices.

Leaf available includes Deep Gold, Red Gold, Lemon Gold, White Gold, Moon Gold, Platinum, Palladium, Silver, Imitiation Gold, Imitation Silver, Variegated leaf and Copper leaf. All books contain 25 leaves.

Each leaf of gold is 80mm x 80mm, silver is 90mm x 90mm and imitation leaf are 140 x 140mm. Without wastage the 80 x 80mm leaf will cover an area of 0.16m2 and the 140 x 140mm leaf 0.49m2.

For leaf obtained in loose form, three items of equipment are available to cut and pick up the leaf:
The gilders 'cushion or board, which is like a gilders' palette on which the leaf is laid out flat and, if required, cut into smaller pieces.
The gilders' knife for handling, straightening out, and cutting the leaf.
The gilders' tip for picking leaf up and laying it on the surface. Our new product 'The Smith Tip' is an ideal product for glass gilding, used by professionals and beginners alike.
