INFORMATION
This Gilders Tip is for picking up loose gold leaf from a gilder’s cushion or direct from the booklet and applying it to the gilding surface. Made from thin squirrel hair, this specialist tool is lightweight and precise – it is designed to be used carefully so as not to damage the gold leaf.
To use, simply stroke the gilders tip along the skin on your arm or face. This builds up some static or grease to attract the gold leaf to the tip from the booklets or cushion prior to being placed on the surface to be gilded. If using gold size, take care not to get any onto the gilders tip. Not to be used for applying size or laquers.
Length of hair: 45 mm
