Ox hair sits between sable and pony hair in terms of quality – it has a natural spring and a good point, and holds a generous amount of colour, making it particularly well suited to larger scale work where you need both control and capacity. The full, rounded head lays colour down smoothly and evenly across a large surface, while the seamless nickel-plated ferrules and black polished handles give them a quality and balance you can feel in the hand.

Available in four sizes, from size 10 through to size 16 – the difference in scale between them is quite marked, so there’s a brush for every scale of work.
