INFORMATION
Rottenstone, also known as Tripoli, is a finely powdered natural rock widely used as a gentle abrasive for polishing and finishing. Favoured by artists, furniture restorers, and metalworkers, it is ideal for achieving a smooth, high-gloss sheen on wood finishes such as varnish, shellac, and lacquer. Typically applied with a felt or cloth pad and used in combination with oil, Rottenstone allows for precise control during the final stages of finishing. It is also effective for polishing low-lustre metals like pewter and for removing tarnish, making it a versatile addition to any workshop or restoration toolkit.
Available in 1Kg, 500g & 250g
