INFORMATION
In printmaking pumice powder can be used to grain or polish a plate prior to degreasing. The fine abrasive powder will remove minor scratches and create a slightly grained surface. The plate can be polished to a smoother finish with finer abrasives if no plate tone is required. For more information, read our PDF ‘Jackson’s Etching Plates Explained’.
Pumice Powder is also used to provide tooth to grounds.
